Senator Lee Recognizes Utah Youth Appointed to U.S. Military Academies As a United States Senator, I have the privilege of nominating young men and women in Utah to attend our nation’s distinguished service academies. I hosted a dinner last Friday for those youth I personally nominated this year who have received an academy appointment. In an unprecedented year, 20 students whom I nominated were appointed by an academy and will be attending West Point, the Naval Academy, or Air Force Academy. Learn More
Highlights from Hooper Mobile Office Visit Last week my staff made a mobile office visit to Hooper City and enjoyed the opportunity to meet with individuals in the area. In addition to the mobile office visit, my staff also met with Mayor Korry Green and attended a special event at Hooper Elementary. I would like to thank all those who braved the spring snow to come out and visit with my staff. The event at Hooper Elementary featured 5th and 6th grade students from the after-school government club who participated in a mock congressional hearing. Organized by teacher Melinda Sayers, the mock hearing was the culmination of a yearlong focus on the Constitution and American government. Learn More
The Wall That Heals Last Friday, members of my St. George staff visited The Wall That Heals during its four-day stop in St. George. Organized and operated by the Vietnam Veterans MemorialFund, The Wall That Heals is a traveling museum that helps bring closure and healing to the many millions of people who have been impacted by the Vietnam War.
