"Let's Talk" Tele-Townhall Meetings
On February 13, 2013 Senator Lee hosted thousands of Utahns from across the state on the inaugural “Let’s Talk” teleconference. For the last five years Senator Lee has held tele-townhall meetings almost every month. He has worked with his staff to ensure that these events are widely attended and valued by those who participate in them. The event management tools of the tele-townhall format allow a variety of viewpoints and issues to be covered, and Senator Lee regularly get 10’000s of Utahns to participate in these events. Live streaming and social media technologies now enable these events to reach anyone with a smartphone, and his last tele-townhall reached over 700,000 people. These events are popular because Utahns respect the civil, substantive dialogue and meaningful engagment. All Utahns are invited to be part of these events.
