Lee Introduces the Fairness for Stay-at-Home Parents Act

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the Fairness for Stay-at-Home Parents Act, which exempts new parents from paying back health insurance premiums to their employers, should they choose not to return to work after maternity or paternity leave. Under current law, employers can “claw back” premiums from new moms and dads if they stay at home following parental leave.

Lee, Tuberville Introduce Legislation to Repurpose Woke USAID Funding to Improve Veterans’ Homes

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) introduced the Veterans First Act of 2025, which will redirect wasteful taxpayer funding previously allocated for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to instead pay for outstanding repairs in state veterans’ homes. This legislation follows the Trump administration’s actions to largely shut down USAID after it was revealed that the agency was using taxpayer funds to pay for radical leftist priorities. Rep. Dave Taylor (R-OH) leads the effort in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Senator Lee Introduces Bill to Stop Secret Meetings of DC Council

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced a bill to repeal a recent action by the city council of the District of Columbia which established secret planning meetings away from the oversight of Congress and the American people. The DC Council took this action with the expressed purpose of working around President Trump’s recent executive order to stop crime in Washington and clean up the city.

Senator Lee Introduces the No Union Time on the Taxpayer’s Dime Act for 119th Congress

Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced the No Union Time on the Taxpayer’s Dime Act, legislation that would prohibit the misuse of taxpayer dollars for union-related activities by federal employees during work hours. The legislation has been introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep. Ben Cline (R-VA).
