#RoadLessTraveledUtah Photo Contest
Utah has over 43,000 miles of public roads. These roads connect communities, pass through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country, and they enable Utahns to enjoy an enviable standard of living. Senator Mike Lee would like to showcase an outstanding collection of Utah’s roads in his Washington DC office. You are invited by Senator Mike Lee and Utahgram to submit your photographs of Utah’s roads to this Instagram photo contest. In addtion to photos being displayed in Senator Lee's office, he will also send a flag flown of the U.S. Capitol to the three entrants whose submissions receive the most likes on Instagram. Here are the rules:
- Be safe. Pictures taken by drivers while driving will not be considered.
- The photo has to contain a road in Utah.
- Only 1 photo per person. Multiple photos will be selected for the display, but only 1 photo per person will be selected.
- For communication purposes*, you must be following @SenMikeLee and @Utahgram on Instagram.
- Use this tag for your entry: #RoadLessTraveledUtah
- Winner info: Representatives from Senator Lee’s office will select up to 28 photos to be displayed in Senator Lee’s office. In addition to the 28 photos that will be selected for display in Senator Lee’s office, a flag that has been flown over the US Capitol will be given to the top three entrants whose photos receive the most likes during the contest.
- Contest ends on May 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. MT.
*Those whose submissions are selected will be asked to provide a larger file size image, so it can be printed for display.
This contest is open to all who would like to enter. All photos must contain a road in Utah. The contest begins when the announcement is posted from Senator Mike Lee’s Instagram account. The contest ends on May 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. MT.
Photographs can be submitted by posting them to an Instagram account and tagging the photos with the hashtag #RoadLessTraveledUtah. Photos that are chosen for display in Senator Lee’s office must be 5 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).’ Entrants must be following @SenMikeLee and @Utahgram on Instagram for communication purposes to be considered for their work to be displayed in Senator Lee’s office or to be considered for the flag giveaway.
All entries must be original work of photographer. Entrant must solely own the copyright of any image. Submission of the photo is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder of the photo.
Number of Entries
An individual may submit as many photos as they would like, but only one photo per entrant will be considered to be displayed in Senator Lee’s office.
Since photos will be displayed in Senator Lee’s office, all photos must be appropriate and adhere to the following guidelines: Obscene, provocative or otherwise questionable content will be disqualified. The Office of Senator Lee retains sole discretion as to what constitutes appropriate content. Photos that contain recognizable people will also not be considered.
Ownership Use Rights
Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By entering the contest, photographers agree to have their submitted photograph displayed on the www.lee.senate.gov website without any fee or other form of compensation, and agree that the photos can be displayed in printed form in any of the offices of Senator Lee or in any area of the website and any of the Senator’s other digital media pages including Instagram, E-newsletter, Facebook page, Twitter account, and Youtube channel. Photos will be credited to the photographer named in their instagram account. Entries will never be used for advertising or sale. If ownership of a photograph is contested, the Office of Senator Lee retains discretion to disqualify that photograph and discontinue use of the photograph.
The three submissions with the highest amount of likes on Instagram will be the winners of the flag giveaway. Photos to be used for display in Senator Lee’s office will be selected based on staff selection.
Winners will be notified approximately 1-3 weeks after the contest deadline through their Instagram account. Winners will also be sent an affidavit of eligibility and release. Winners that are under the age of 18 will also need their affidavit of eligibility and release signed by a parent or guardian. Winner must execute and return this release within 7 days of the date on the winner notification letter. Failure to execute and return this release will lead to disqualification.
Additional Terms and Conditions
The Office of Senator Lee is not responsible for computer system, hardware, software, or program malfunctions or other errors, failures, delayed computer transactions, or network connections that are human or technical in nature. The Office of Senator Lee reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend all or any portion of this contest without notice. Void where prohibited. The Office of Senator Lee is entitled to interpret these rules as needed and its decisions are final.
Your submission to the contest constitutes your consent to enter and abide by the Official Contest Rules. By participating in the contest you agree to release and hold harmless the Office of Senator Lee and its staff from any and all damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind resulting from your participation in this contest, including infringement of intellectual property rights. The Office of Senator Lee and its staff assume no responsibility or liability for any damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind arising in whole or in part from this contest.
